Usually, the size of the handmade carpets includes the foot from 1x1, 2x3, and 3x5 up to 20x30.

There are more than 10 working procedure in handmade carpet production, they are drawing, choosing from raw material, raw silk refining and dyeing, hitch warp, weave, shearing，washing and so on. The raw material weaving carpet has mainly being from Chinese silk, rayon, wool etc.

It is an exigent working to weave handmade carpet, this job requires that weaver’s sight is fairly good, thought is agile, action is quick and neat and has certain art appreciates knowledge. Weave handmade carpet is painstaking and time-consuming work, a skillful weaver will have to spend 2 years time to weaving a piece of silk carpet of 800 lines by 1.5 x 2 foot.
